NMC recognition for practicing in India
Your medical degree will be valid in India, provided you meet the conditions of the NMC's Foreign Medical Graduate Licentiate (FMGL) Regulations, 2021.
NMC requirements:
Valid university: The university must be listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools (WDOMS).
Complete course duration: You must complete a course with a minimum of 54 months of academic study and a 12-month compulsory internship at the same institution.
Medium of instruction: The entire course must be conducted in English.
Licensing exam (NExT): Indian students must clear the National Exit Test (NExT), which has replaced the Foreign Medical Graduates Examination (FMGE). This is required to obtain a license to practice medicine in India.
