McGill University is a public research university located in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Founded in 1821 by royal charter granted by King George IV, the university bears the name of James McGill, a Scottish merchant whose bequest in 1813 formed the university's precursor, University of McGill College (or simply, McGill College); the name was officially changed to McGill University in 1885.McGill's main campus is on the slope of Mount Royal in downtown Montreal in the borough of Ville-Marie, with a second campus situated in Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue, also on Montreal Island, 30 kilometres (19 mi) west of the main campus. The university is one of two universities outside the United States which are members of the Association of American Universities, alongside the University of Toronto, and it is the only Canadian member of the Global University Leaders Forum (GULF) within the World Economic Forum.McGill offers degrees and diplomas in over 300 fields of study, with the highest average entering grades of any Canadian university. Most students are enrolled in the five largest faculties, namely Arts, Science, Medicine, Education, Engineering, and Management. Post study work visa

Canada offers a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) of upto 3 years depending upon the course and duration of study in Canada which can lead to Permanent Residency in Canada through the Express Entry Route.

A work permit under the PGWP is usually issued for the length of the study program. The maximum length of the PGWP in Canada is of three years. It means if your post-graduate course’s duration is two years, you get a three-year PGWP visa. The course duration must be a minimum of eight months to get post graduate work permit in Canada.

The Post-Graduation Work Permit Program (PGWPP) allows international students who completed their higher education in Canada from designated learning institutions (DLIs) to obtain an open work permit and remain and work in Canada. This allows students to stay in Canada and gain work experience after completing their graduation from a recognized Canadian institution.

With PGWP students get the opportunity to gain Canadian work experience which helps graduates qualify for permanent residence in Canada through Canadian experience class within Express Entry where students can apply to gain Permanent Residency typically within a period of 6 months. Students typically register with a Job Bank administered by the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), which handles applications received through Canada’s federal immigration program IRCC to help students find work and get matched to Jobs based on a point based system.
